Rocznik Warszawski. Seria Nowa (RW) is a scholarly Journal entirely concerned with the history of Warsaw, with the aim of deepening and disseminate knowledge about the city's past. It is a continuation of the Rocznik Warszawski, founded in 1960 on the initiative of the State Archive of the City of Warsaw, which was initially published by the State Publishing Institute, and then successively by: the Royal Castle in Warsaw, Society of Friends of the Royal Castle and the Historical Museum of the City of Warsaw. The editors-in-chief of Rocznik Warszawski were leading historians Stanisław Herbst (1960-1974), Aleksander Gieysztor (1974-1999) and Andrzej Rottermund (1999-2012). By 2012, 37 volumes had came out. In 2022, after a ten-year break due to financial considerations, the Journal was resumed by the Board of Directors of the Society of History Lovers in Warsaw.
